The Nature Strip Dilemma

This time last year Nature Strip was 1.45 to win the Lightning Stakes and as he had done previously failed to win first up. Punters may have been seduced by his breath- taking win at his previous run up the straight.

This time the pressure is on Bivouac, who like Nature Strip has trialled well and has an excellent record at Flemington. The race has in recent years been very kind to punters who have been prepared to take on the favourite. Will it be the same this year and will Nature Strip be better at 7-2 than he was at 1-2.   Only time will tell. (and he won)
